SKILLS CAMPAIGN

The Skills Campaign's most recent key message is that studying for a new qualification may cost less than you think and that there may be financial support available.

Alongside radio adverts and outdoor posters, national and regional press work included a four page supplement in The Mirror (21/08) and a double page spread featuring our Leicester case study in The People promoting flexibility of learning. There is also a Lincolnshire case study. Click here to see a list of poster sites.

  • a ‘Faff Time’ press release, highlighting the amount of time people waste and better ways to use it. It also produced good national and regional press coverage, with pieces in The Daily Mail and The Daily Star, as well as radio and online.

In the first week of the Skills for Life campaign (w/c 28th July) almost 1,000 calls were generated in its first week from the TV advertising alone.

Train to Gain

LSC East Midlands wants to help providers achieve its Train to Gain targets. As the programme broadens out, so is the requirement for more promotional items. There are some new ones listed on the LSC’s campaign resources web site, however what else could the LSC provide? What do you need to reach your employer base, target specific sectors? How can the LSC assist you to generate leads? In the past the LSC has helped some providers to cleanse their databases in attempt to generate leads for telemarketing campaigns. If you feel LSC East Midlands can assist you, please email Richard.butler@lsc.gov.uk

You might find copies of the LSC East Midlands’ Business Briefing helpful. This publication aims to keep employers up to speed on the region’s skills agenda.
