Skills CampaignThe next phase of the Skills campaign started on 29th December 2008 with a three week burst of the current Skills Campaign leading directly into the Careers Advice Service (CAS) campaign. For the Skills Campaign there is an amended 30' TV ad, a new 30' radio ad, online banners and a press release due to go out on 8th January 2009. The Skills ads and CAS ads share some elements such as the theme, voiceover artist, music and end frames. Apprenticeship Week
National Apprenticeship Vacancy Management Service (NAVMS)LSC East Midlands has produced the first leaflet to announce the NAVMS service to internal and external stakeholders. In December the new CEO of the National Apprenticeship Service was appointed. Simon Waugh – currently chairman of the financial services organisation, AWP - will join the newly formed organisation in February.
Apprenticeship Awards 2009The 2009 Awards were launched last month. The regional awards will take place on DATE & VENUE and the national Apprenticeship Awards will take place on Thursday 16th July 2009 at Old Billingsgate in London. In both cases, the awards have been designed to celebrate the success of apprentices who have made a real difference to their future and the organisation for which they work. They also recognise the hard work of employers who are successfully tackling skills shortages to build their future workforce through Apprenticeships.
Apprenticeship EventsAs part of the new Apprenticeship marketing campaign, high profile Apprenticeship events for employers will take place across England during February and March 2009. The plans are for Sir Alan Sugar and both Secretaries of State, John Denham and Ed Balls, to speak at the events which will promote the benefits of taking on apprentices to employers. Further details will follow.
ALP EventsA series of workshops with the Association of Learning Providers (ALP) will commence shortly. These events will provide ALP members with information on the National Apprenticeship Service, including employer and learner services and the Vacancy Matching System. Further information will follow shortly.
Skills Accounts
Skills Accounts will help individuals take control of their learning and working life. Skills Accounts are a personalised service that allow learners to access a range of information and careers advice about how to improve their skills and access financial support.
