Value of Learning

This campaign aims to demonstrate to potential learners the long-term financial benefits of investing time or money (or both) in improving their skills.  Whilst the broader Skills Campaign demonstrates the more emotional benefits of learning, Value of Learning puts a figure on that benefit, expressing it in terms of hard cash.

The following is a summary of the channels that will be used in this element of the campaign across the three phases:

Phase 1

  • National press: 26 Nov to 16 Dec - 2 x press ads outline the message that investing a little money/time in training can grow your annual salary.  Titles include Sun, Mirror, Daily Mail, Express
  • Regional radio: 26 Nov to 16 Dec - 1 x radio ad explaining the financial benefits of investing in training.
  • PR activity: 19 Nov to end Jan - Concept: a future of more morney is in our hands if we invest in learning, invluding using celebrities & experts to give extra credence to the message.

Phase 2

  • Regional activity: March 2008 – This activity will consist of developing a regional toolkit to cascade the message at a local level, helping colleges & other providers to drive demand for course places during the critical course sign-up period.
